HOW TO REPORT ANIMAL ABUSE IN ISRAEL

הודעה חשובה למגיני בעלי החיים

בפגישה שהתקיימה בין עו"ד אלון דוידוב - חבר הנהלת 'צדק לכל', לקצין משטרה אייל דביר, מהמטה הארצי בירושלים, סוכם על שיטת עבודה פשוטה ויעילה של פעילים להגנת בע"ח מול משטרת ישראל.

1. עפ"י הנחיית מדור סביבה של משטרת ישראל, בעת הגשת תלונה על פגיעה בבעל חיים, יש לציין בפני גובה התלונה, כי היא מוגשת עפ"י קוד עבירה 549.

חשוב להדגיש קוד זה, שכן, רק בציון הקוד הנ"ל, תנותב התלונה ליחידה של אייל דביר (איתו סוכמו הדברים), ובמקרה זה, הסמכות לסגירת תיק, הינה בידם בלבד.

בכל מקרה, בו תוגש תלונה שלא עפ"י קוד 549, לא תנותב התלונה ליחידה הנ"ל, דבר המקטין משמעותית את סיכויי הטיפול במקרה.

An important message to the animal protectors

At a meeting between Adv. Alon Davidov, a member of the Justice for All administration, and police officer Eyal Dvir, from the National Headquarters in Jerusalem, a simple and effective method of working for animal protection activists was agreed upon by the Israel Police.

1. According to the instructions of the Environment Section of the Israel Police, when filing a complaint about harming an animal, it must be noted to the complainant that it is being served according to the Code of Offense 549.

It is important to emphasize this code, since only with the above mentioned code will the complaint be directed to the unit of Eyal Dvir (with whom it was agreed), and in this case, the authority to close the case is in their hands only.

In any event, in which a complaint is submitted not in accordance with Code 549, the complaint will not be forwarded to the above unit, which significantly reduces the chances of handling the case.

2. To improve the process, it is recommended to request a copy of the confirmation of the complaint and to forward it to Adv. Alon Davidov at Adv1alon@gmail.com
